Peter Lynch on Why America Needs Risk Takers

In this Charlie Rose interview, Peter Lynch makes the case for policies that encourage people to take risk, invest money, and start businesses.

His point is not that government has no role. Lynch says consumers should be protected, monopolies should be challenged, and bad behavior should be stopped.

But he also argues that excessive paperwork, high capital gains taxes, and unnecessary regulation can discourage the very people who create new businesses.

The lesson is classic Lynch. Capitalism works when people are willing to take risk, build things, and invest for the future.
