Grilled Apple Pies
Not ready to call it quits on barbecue season? Fire up your grill for these grilled apple pie pockets—the perfect fall treat!
𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝:
∙5 sprays Cooking spray
∙1½ tsp Regular butter
∙2 cup(s), peeled and diced (about 1 large) Fresh apple(s)
∙2½ Tbsp Unpacked brown sugar
∙⅜ tsp Ground cinnamon
∙7 oz, (half of a 14.1-oz) Refrigerated pie crust, unprepared
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭:
1. Coat an outdoor grill rack with nonstick spray. Prepare grill to medium-high heat.
2. Meanwhile, melt butter in a medium nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Add apples; cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in brown sugar; cook until apples are tender, stirring occasionally, 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in cinnamon.
3. Unroll pie dough onto a piece of parchment paper. Roll dough into a 12½-inch circle. Cut out 7 (4-inch) dough circles. Reroll scraps and cut out 2 more (4-inch) circles. Spoon about 1 tbsp apple filling into the center of each dough circle. Fold dough over filling to form a half-circle; press edges together with the tines of a fork to seal.
4. Arrange pies on grill rack; grill until lightly charred and crust is done, 3 to 4 minutes per side.
Serving size: 1 pie
