In this video I'm building a pair of raised garden beds out of reclaimed cedar decking. This is a great use for reclaimed wood. The dimensions are 7 feet long, 2.5 feet wide, and 15 inches deep. The pieces for the corners are 3 inches wide. All of the stock was milled down to around 1.25 inches thick but that was primarily done to remove all of the old finish and clean up the surfaces...you could skip this step if you bought new lumber or wanted to just sand off the old stain or even just leave it alone. This is our first time trying to grow a garden so we're hoping having these raised beds will help keep the critters out and that the fresh soil mix will help us grow some nice veggies this summer.
