In 1948 Justice Douglas wrote about the danger of an "Industrial Oligarchy" controlling the U.S. economy. Today, the 6 largest American companies are worth $14.7 Trillion which is more than the GDP of the Russia and every country in the Western Hemisphere with the exception of the United States and Cuba.
