The ‘Pororoca’ is a tidal phenomenon; a tsunami-like force, which tears through the Amazon for hundreds of miles. Amongst locals it is associated with tragedy and destruction, and yet it has become a source of income, attracting surfers from around the world, eager to take on the longest wave in the world.
