You're using the wrong story arc to tell your stories #shorts

The reason your videos don’t hold attention is because you’re using the wrong story arc.

This is what we were all taught…the Traditional Story Arc.

Initial Conflict, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, and Resolution.

But on social media with our cracked out brains, that 5-act story doesn’t work anymore.

People scroll away before the rising action ever begins.

So instead, on social media, you wanna use this…

The Modern Story Arc.

The Modern Arc doesn’t start at 0, it starts at 70/100.

The first 5 seconds, the hook, need to almost feel like you’re getting dropped in the middle of a story in motion.

Then very quickly, you need to spike the viewer to a 90/100, your first peak.

A contrast moment, a contrarian take, a shocking stat.

Something to release an initial hit of dopamine in the viewer.

After 20-30 seconds of releasing tension, boom, you go up for another hit peak, 

And over and over.

Peak, release, peak, release. every 10-15 seconds for short-form.

In the modern era, the climax doesn't sit in the middle

Instead, you're stacking mini-peaks on top of each other, rehooking throughout the whole video.
