[Summary Content]
✨ We reflect on God's love that restores a thornbush-like life into life like new grass, following 2 Samuel 23:1-7. Before the thorns in us that pierce others and wound ourselves, we look to the Lord who does not avoid us but embraces us. ✨
In David's final confession, new grass and thornbushes appear together. The one who rules in the fear of God is like new grass springing up after rain, while the wicked are like thorns that cannot be taken by hand.
Moses had a life like a thornbush, staying in the wilderness after failure and frustration, yet God called him again from the flame in the thornbush. Paul also had a thorn in his flesh, yet God made His power complete in that weakness.
David, too, was a thorny person who pierced others and was pierced himself. But God did not leave him there. God restored him to life like new grass after rain.
Jesus did not avoid our thorns. He wore the crown of thorns, embraced us who were like thornbushes, and healed us by the precious blood of the cross.
2 Samuel 23:1-7
