Lucy Douglas Cochrane.
Born in Boston in 1920, into one of the oldest families in America. Beacon Hill. Old money. A world where every detail of life had already been decided before she was old enough to choose it herself.
She accepted the elegance.
Then quietly transformed it into something unmistakably her own.
She was painted by Diego Rivera, by Salvador Dalí, by Andy Warhol.
She became one of Truman Capote’s legendary “Swans” — his “cool vanilla lady.”
