Government Takes Strict Measures to Prevent Ebola from Entering the State

The state government is taking intensive measures to prevent the deadly Ebola virus from entering the region. Health Minister Damodara Rajanarsimha has directed officials to thoroughly collect details of travelers arriving from Ebola-affected areas, warning that anyone providing false information will face cases under the Epidemic Diseases Act. The minister conducted a review meeting at the Secretariat, attended by Health Department Chief Secretary Christina, GHMC Additional Commissioner Santosh, and Public Health Director Dr. Ravindra Nayak, discussing the spread of the virus in affected countries, precautionary measures taken, and the emergency response system. Officials informed the minister that special surveillance has been placed on both domestic and international travelers arriving from Ebola-affected countries, with their health being continuously monitored for 21 days. Anyone displaying suspected symptoms is being immediately identified and placed in isolation at Gandhi Hospital.
