Imphal: Massive Rally Demands NRC Update Before Census Exercise | News9

Imphal witnessed a massive rally as members of 14 CSOs Kangleipak and supporters took to the streets demanding an update of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) before the upcoming Census exercise. Protesters emphasized the need to address concerns related to illegal immigration, demographic changes, and the protection of indigenous communities in Manipur.

Speaking on the issue, Nahakpam Shanta, Convenor of 14 CSOs Kangleipak, outlined the organization's demands and urged authorities to initiate the NRC update process at the earliest. Politician Elangbam Johnson also addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of safeguarding the interests of the people of Manipur.
