Katara Reunites With Her Mother

Up there with the death of Aang, many fans have wondered if it was ever possible for Katara to somehow reunite with her mother in some sort of way, whether through the spirit world or at the time of her own death.

As you probably know, Katara’s mother Kya directly gave up her own life in exchange for Katara’s, so its only fitting that they come together and reunite for one final time…

And this little animation does exactly that. All credit to No Stress for this wonderful and sad animation that details Katara’s final moments and her finally repaying the sacrifice that Kya made all those years earlier…

So the animation begins with the presumed death of Katara in her home at the Southern Water Tribe. As she draws her final breath, her spirit or an apparition of herself exits the tent where she passed.
