Whitelisting Alchemy Viewer In Windows Defender

Steps: Start / Windows Security / Virus & Threat Protection /
Virus & Threat Protection Settings / Manage Settings /
Exclusions / Add or Remove Exclusions
When the prompt appears saying:
"Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?"
select Yes.
Then click Add an exclusion.

Whitelist the following for Alchemy Viewer:

1. Main installation folder:
C:\Program Files\Alchemy\
(and everything inside it)

2. Executable file (important):
C:\Program Files\Alchemy\AlchemyViewer.exe

3. User data folders:
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\AlchemyViewer\
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\AlchemyViewer\

Notes:
- AppData is hidden — enable “Show hidden files” or paste the path directly.
- If installed elsewhere, whitelist that folder instead.

Additional (recommended):
- Add AlchemyViewer.exe to Windows Defender "Allowed apps" (Controlled Folder Access)
- If you have connection issues, make sure AlchemyViewer.exe is allowed through your firewall.
