Digual: A Privacy-First Browser Toolkit (Encrypted Chat, File Encryption, Steganography)

A walkthrough of digual.com, a suite of privacy-focused security and utility tools that run entirely in your browser. No accounts, no servers, no data leaves your device.

What's included:
- Encrypted live chat rooms with QR-code invites and file sharing
- AES file and text encryption (offline)
- Image steganography for hiding messages inside images
- Password generator with strength indicator
- Image optimizer (Canvas API)
- Full in-browser image editor (miniPaint)
- Media converter using FFmpeg and ImageMagick via WebAssembly
- QR code generator and scanner
- Network tools: public IP, DNS propagation checker

Encryption details:
- Web Crypto API (window.crypto.subtle), no third-party libraries
- AES-256-GCM (authenticated encryption)
- PBKDF2 with 100,000 iterations and SHA-256 for key derivation
- 16-byte random salt, 12-byte random IV per operation
- All key derivation and encryption happens client-side

Built this as a personal project. Not a product, no monetization, no tracking, no signup required. Just tools I use daily and figured I'd share.
