3 Common Mistakes in Spoken English and How to Fix Them
In this video, we are going to talk about 3 common mistakes in Spoken English and how to fix them!
Here are the 3 most common mistakes:
Verb to be everywhere – "I’m go", "she is like" to study
it is a stative verb
"I’m want" to study, "I’m need" to improve
How to fix it: When I am making persistent mistakes I like to write reminders around me
Present & Past - many students struggle with past and present. That’s why I always recommend studying by context. Your brain needs to have it very clear that you are talking about the past if you are struggling with it. Many students even combine mistake one (verb to be) with the past, for example, "I’m went". "She is needed" to study. be careful about those mistakes
How to fix it – make a list of several life events that have happened to you.
His/Her/Your – it is a very persistent mistake. to correct it, you need to be 10x more persistent How to fix it? Illustrate! visual examples, see, listen, feel it, make it real
How to fix it: write weekly essays about people you like.
