Not your ordinary pods
While you’re in your bubbles, how’s about a video about pods. Not the chocolate pods you eat – now that’s making us hungry - but a pod carrying the seeds of native trees. It might sound far-fetched, but before lockdown put us all into bubbles, these pods were being flung from a drone over the Hūnua Ranges into an old pine forest. This is a cheaper and faster way to plant native trees than by hand, and the technology could change how we revegetate land in the future. Why not take a seat on the couch and find out how with the help of MPI, Ahika Consulting, and Envico Technologies we’ve been able to fire five thousand seed pods into the soil in the Hūnuas.
