General Tom Thumb 00:12 was made famous by working in a circus working under P.T. Barnum, a distant cousin. Over the course of his career, he amassed an incredible fortune and he even met the Prince of Wales.

Ella Harper was born in 1870 with a rare disease called congenital genu recurvatum causing her knees to be bent in the other direction. As a result, she preferred to walk on all fours. She later joined the circus, earning $200 per week.

Frank Lentini 00:55 was born in Italy in the late 1800’s and was born with a parasitic twin. He became known for having three legs, four feet and two sets of genitals and moved the the United States at the age of 8 to join the Ringling Brothers Circus.

Chang and Eng Bunker are the ones who made “Siamese twins” famous came from. They were born in Siam, what we call Thailand today. They are joined by the sternum and their livers are fused. They later settled down in North Carolina where they married two normal sisters, having 21 children in total.

Octavia The Yankee Snake Charmer was one of the biggest attractions at Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. Most sideshows included a snake charmer because they sold the most tickets.

Julia Pastrana, an indigenous native of Sinaloa, Mexico in 1834. She was born with a condition called hypertrichosis (excessive hair) as well as ears and nose were unusually large, and her teeth were irregular. She died 5 days after giving birth to a baby girl who also suffered from the same condition at the age of 26.

Jack Earl was 8’6? and suffered from gigantism and acromegaly. He performed with both the Ringling Brothers and Barnum Circus as The Cowboy Giant.

Harry Houdini, will always be known as the most famous escape artist. Before becoming a performer, Harry was a locksmith, which helped him in his later career. He died at the age of 52 due to peritonitis.

Although albinism is a popular condition, back then it wasn’t back then so he toured with the circus.

Prince Randian 04:44
This Guyanese born entertainer was known as Prince Randian. He was born without any limbs and was best known for wearing tight-fitting costumes that made him look like a caterpillar and for his ability to roll up a cigarette with his lips.
