Augusto Pinochet: La gran traición

Imagina que por un momento se te presentara la oportunidad de convertirte en el hombre más poderoso de tu país. Pero para llegar ahí debes traicionar al hombre que te puso en la posición donde estás en ese momento. ¿Te echarías para atrás y dirías “gracias, pero no gracias” o aprovecharías por completo la oportunidad? Hace casi medio siglo un hombre en Chile decidió traicionar a su gobierno por su propia gloria y aquello que consideraba correcto. Su nombre era Augusto Pinochet.

Era el hijo mayor de una familia católica de clase media, Pinochet pasó los primeros 58 años de su vida en la oscuridad antes de ascender repentinamente a la fama. Fue el principal promotor del golpe de Estado en Chile que derrocó al presidente electo Allende y consolidó una dictadura sin precedentes en el continente. También era un líder que tenía entre sus amigos más cercanos a figuras icnónicas como Margaret Thatcher.
