Disowned By My Parents - True Story | Married by choice

I’ve briefly touched on my marriage story here and there but I’ve never had the courage to be completely open about it until now. It has taken me years to finally speak about my story.

I’m sure most of you have gathered that marriage was never easy for me (hence why I appreciate Arsilan so much). I was being forced to marry a man my parents chose for me without my consent. I stood my ground and said no. It wasn’t an easy journey for me. I suffered a lot mentally and those were the darkest times for me. I suffered from severe anxiety for many years without realising how vulnerable I became. Arsilan and my in-laws have stuck by me and supported me and I’m forever grateful for them.

Allhumdulillah I am in a much better place now. I’ve come so far and I feel that it’s important for me to share my experience and be open with you guys. I hope by me sharing my experience I can help others who are going through a similar situation.
