Filming today with my little girl beside me was one of those moments that makes you slow down and appreciate the little things.
She was asking about everything during the shoot —
“Why do you move the camera like that?”
“Why do you need the light there?”
“Why do you keep filming the same thing over and over?” 😂
And it turned into me casually explaining how a video shoot actually comes together.
I told her it’s really just a bunch of small steps:
🎥 Set up the shot
💡 Make sure the lighting feels right
🎙️ Capture clean audio
🔁 Film a few takes from different angles
✂️ Then piece it all together in editing to tell the story
Nothing fancy. Just patience, creativity, and a lot of repeating yourself sometimes 😅
But honestly, my favorite part of today wasn’t the footage. It was getting to share the process with her.
It reminded me how important it is to document the little moments too — not just the finished product, but the behind-the-scenes memories that come with it.
Those are usually the parts you end up valuing the most later on.
