The Ansar were not related to the Muhajirun except through the bond of La Ilaha Illallah. When the Muhajirun came to Madinah seeking refuge, the Ansar not only offered them refuge but also shared their wealth and property with them. Even when the Ansar needed something, they preferred the Muhajirun over themselves. Today many Muslims have become refugees and undertake harsh journeys in search of peace and safety. Muslims from other countries should take lessons from the Ansar and help their fellow brothers and sisters in faith by offering refuge just like the Ansar did for the Muhajirun.
