what is a reconstruction? Over the years, I realized that there are some people who are a little bit confused about which exact part counts as a reconstruction in the CT image processing. So let's make sure that everybody's on the same page about what it is.

Once you have a set of cross-sections or 3D volume data, then you can display it in 3D rendered view, but this is just a visual representation.

Now, when you do that reconstruction calculation, as you can imagine, it's important to understand what kind of X-ray geometry you use for the data collection. You might be using the parallel beam geometry, in which you have the incident X-ray beam coming into the sample or the object, and the X-rays go through the sample and hit the detector, and it create the projection image.
