✍️ Is your upper back (or thoracic spine) stiff and tight or maybe even painful? This is a super common problem and there could be many reasons why this is happening. One of the most common reasons is because of the daily life in our society. Postural positions, like sitting for prolonged periods of time, contribute to a ‘hunched’ over position, which is referred to as a kyphotic position. This position limits the ability for the upper back to extend, which could lead to issues brewing up in pain such as the shoulder.
✍️ Working on the ability for the upper back to rotate helps allow the thoracic spine function better into extension (the position that is commonly limited).
