River Severn Fishing Autumn 2023 🎣

This compilation fishing the River Severn, in Autumn, shows a deliberate change in tactics with 2 distinct methods of attack, initially, on the chosen swim during a daytime session. Obviously I am targeting anything that swims, apart from Pike, but I am happy to catch most river species at this time of year. Always a joy to catch fish whatever the time of year but more sensible to target the silver fish later in the season, in the first instance, pretty much ensuring no blank session but with the added chance of a Barbel or Chub on standard Barbel set ups.

This outing proved to be a difficult session. I had plenty of bites, on maggots to start, but I didn't really convert the numerous bites to fish on the bank with only Roach, Dace and Gudgeon showing.
Those 'whiskers' didn't really show and only 1 bite, on the Barbel rod, produced a glistening, fighting fit Barbel.

More videos as and when I have any more worthwhile clips to upload and the exceptional flooding of the rivers allowing me the chance to get back on the bank. You can actually see from the video the mudline on the bankside vegetation highlighting the last flood before this session.
