Friends of the Vermont Statehouse Present Peter Schumann's PIETA FOR GAZA in Concert with World Music of Kraatz Carromato!
Bread and Puppet Theater founder and director Peter Schumann presented his quintuplicate Pieta For Gaza at the Vermont Statehouse Farmers Night Concert to rousing cheers from the crowd. Peter's RANT was followed and entirely supported by the World Music of Kraatz Carromato, which the VT Arts Council has described as music "that echoes the migration of the Roma people through the Middle East and Europe, connecting Spanish flamenco and rumba with Balkan, East European, and Middle Eastern influences...original compositions including songs of migration, of longing for a homeland, of loss, hope and resilience." I think of it as food for the soul.
