Vehicle Snow Shield

This is for those that may need their vehicle in a hurry during or after a winter precipitation event (i.e., emergency management, fire, or police officials).

This works well for short-duration Tennessee snowfalls. Sorry, this is in reverse order - next winter storm, add a video of the initial covering.

Items Needed: 2 Queen-sized bedsheets or larger, 4 cleaning towels. An extra person will help get it done faster. Time needed, 3-5 minutes.

Directions: Wait until the snow, sleet, or freezing rain starts, even of it rains first. A wet vehicle will help the sheets to stick in place. Don't worry, they'll peel off easily when it's time to remove them.

1) gently wrap each wiper blade in a towel.
2) cover the downwind side of the vehicle with a sheet. Just throw it across the top. Secure the sheet by closing a small portion in the top doorjam. Close the door gently so the sheet won't blow out.
3) cover the other side. Each side should have sheets draped across the windshield, side mirrors, driver/passenger window, and partially on the hood.
4) tie towels around the sheet-wrapped mirrors (-or- rope, yarn, or something that can be easily removed).

Remove in reverse order. Be gentle when removing the wiper blade towels. Shake out extra snow on the ground, take the sheets to the washer. They're not that dirty, so just wash them on a short cycle.

If the sheets are frozen in the shape of your vehicle, pitch them on a sidewalk or somewhere in the sun to melt before you take them inside your house. If they're soaking wet, throw them in a garbage bag to take them to the washer.

Hope this helps.
