Best Budget Drum Mic Setup? SM57, Audix D6, Rode M5 + U87 Clone

I’m getting ready to record drums again — this time on my Gretsch Catalina Club kit — and here’s the exact mic setup I’m using.

Snare Top & Bottom: Shure SM57
Kick (Inside): Audix D6
Overheads: Rode M5 stereo pair
Room Mic: Michael Joly “Hulk” (U87-style clone)

This setup gives me punch, clarity, and enough room depth to sound commercial without overcomplicating things.
