🔬 How to find the best Darkfield Filter for a microscope by 3D printing

Microscopes that have a condenser can be converted to dark-field by inserting a darkfield patch stop or darkfield filter. In this video I show you how I determine the best size of the patch stop. A patch stop that is too small or large will not produce a nice darkfield image under the microscope.

Filter dimensions:
3D Printed filters
Outside diameter: 34.5mm (to fit into 35mm filter holder)
Patch stop diameters:
For 4x, 10x, 20x objective: 15mm
For 40x objective: 18mm
for 60x objective: 22mm

Commercial filter:
35mm outside diameter
19mm patch stop diameter
