LEGO Technic Latching Switch

There are two kinds of buttons/switches: Momentary and maintained. When a momentary button is pressed, it will only stay activated as long as it's being pressed. With a maintained button, it will stay pressed even when released. A latching switch goes by many names including push-push switch, push-push button, push switch, maintained button, and of course latching switch. It is a device that looks like an ordinary push button, but once pressed it holds its state. If pressed again, it returns to its original state. This process can be repeated.

In this example, I hooked the latching switch up to a LEGO Power Functions switch, which is a maintained switch in itself. I set it up so that it would be used as an on/off switch with the latching switch controlling it, turning the motor, well, on and off with each press.
