A shipment carrying 1,700 tonnes of food, essential goods, and humanitarian supplies has arrived in Havana from Mexico and Belize, providing support to Cuba during a period of economic hardship and increasing U.S. sanctions pressure.

The cargo was delivered aboard the ship Asian Katra and was coordinated through a joint effort involving the governments of Mexico and Belize, solidarity organizations, and Cuban communities abroad. Cuban officials expressed gratitude for the assistance, describing it as a powerful gesture of solidarity during challenging times.

The shipment includes food, basic necessities, and medical supplies, adding to a series of international aid efforts received by Cuba in 2026.
