About Matt

A serving airline pilot and former RAF fast jet pilot, Matt Lindley combines frontline aviation experience with deep expertise in human performance and organisational culture. After a brief spell at Ford working on management strategy and culture change, Matt joined the Royal Air Force, where he flew fast jets and later specialised in VIP transport and pilot training.

In commercial aviation, Matt flew the Boeing 747 on long-haul routes around the world, gaining unique insight into the systems and culture that make aviation one of the safest industries in existence. He now helps organisations apply those same principles to leadership, error management, and performance improvement.

As one of the first openly gay pilots in the RAF, Matt also speaks candidly about inclusion, authenticity, and mental wellbeing at work—highlighting how supportive leadership enables people to perform at their best.
