This is a recording of the Track1/4: Token Design Thinking Framework - Ocean Protocol Use Case (May 31, 2024).

This Live Track provides an overview of the concept and potential of Web3 Tokens and define the discipline of Token Engineering - comparing and explaining it in the context of other existing terms such as Token Economics, Cryptoeconomics, Cryptogovernance, etc.

Based on two case studies (Bitcoin & Ocean Protocol), we’ll explore the purpose and principles of a token network, the functions to be fulfilled, the necessary types of tokens, the properties of all token types, and the stakeholders involved. Finally, we’ll analyze the power structure that can arise between the different stakeholders over time.
