Europe performed in front of 8,000 music fans at the major ZDF live event "50 Years of Rock - Love Songs".

Other Artists were: Elton John, Uriah Heep, Def Leppard, Percy Sledge, Chris Norman, City, Zucchero & Paul Young, Ted Herold, The Moody Blues, Chris de Burgh, Holly Johnson, Joe Cocker, Robin Gibb, Lou Gramm and Dolores O'Riordan.

The band played 3 songs: Carrie, Hero from their just released 6th studio album Start From The Dark and The Final Countdown.
