How to crochet a rustic mug rug

Bring a little cheer to your table with these lovely mug rugs.
The pattern is easy to follow and works up fast, so this could be a go-to project when you have to whip up a gift whether to give at Christmas, or as a house -warming gift.

Yarn and hook: less than 30 grams of DK yarn for one rug, and a 3 & 4 mm hooks (US: -/D), (UK 11/8)
Crochet stitches: chain (ch), chain space (ch-sp), skip (sk), single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc).
American terminology used.
Other: tapestry needle for weaving ends, a piece of cardboard 7-8 cm /2.75-3" in length, scissors. Measurements of finished rug (without the fringes): 15x12 cm / 5.90”x4.72”

*In the video I keep saying "tassels" - but we are making "fringes".
