Temple History🚩

The Aswakranta Temple, located North Guwahati in Assam, is one of the most revered shrines dedicated to Lord Vishnu. and One of the most famous Assam tourist places. The name 'Aswakranta' translates to 'the place where the horse halted.' According to Hindu mythology, this temple is linked to the Mahabharata, where Lord Krishna is believed to have halted here with his horse while pursuing the demon Narakasura.

The temple is also known for the footprints of Lord Krishna, enshrined within, adding to its sacred significance. Built atop a hill overlooking the Brahmaputra, the temple offers a scenic and spiritual retreat for devotees and travelers alike. Its unique architectural style blends the traditional Assamese designs with stone-carved idols and intricate sculptures.
