Edge of the World Riyadh - Great Desert Camping or Day Trip in Saudi Arabia!

The Edge of The World Saudi Arabia - It's the perfect day trip from Riyadh, or even quick overnight camping trip like we did! Just an hour and a half from Riyadh, you can visit one of Saudi Arabia's most dramatic landscape - a huge escarpment that runs further than the eye can see.

A 4x4 is required (although the northern route we took was not a super difficult drive), but your offroading is rewarded with incredible views. We camped out and got to see the cliffs both at sunset and sunrise. It's one of the best things to do in Riyadh!

HOW TO VISIT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD RIYADH:
If you're headed out to the Edge of the World on a weekend, we highly recommend the guide by Laura from Blue Abaya. You can find it here: https://www.blueabaya.com/2012/08/guide-to-edge-of-world.html

For a weekday visit, though, you'll have to take a slightly different route. The gate to the south is closed during the week, so enter near Sadus Dam and then follow the trail our to the Edge of the World. I highly recommend using an offline GPS map like GAIA GPS to download your directions and points of interest - it just makes things much, much easier.
