Amber Thompson explores the critical role of bridging social capital—connections across diverse social groups—in fostering workplace inclusion. Drawing on real-world examples and research, she demonstrates how embracing diversity and collaboration enhances innovation, strengthens team dynamics, and creates a culture where everyone thrives. Amber Thompson is a trial attorney at Lightfoot, Franklin & White, LLC where she represents corporate clients in product liability, environmental and toxic tort litigation nationwide. Amber has served on the Diversity Committee of the firm since 2019, helping to implement new initiatives to recruit and retain diverse talent. She received a Burton award for Distinguished Legal Writing in 2020 for her contributions to the article “Diversity’s Next Step: Developing Minority Partners.” Amber received her J.D. from The University of Alabama School of Law in 2018, where she served as Editor in Chief for The Journal of the Legal Profession and competed for the winning team of the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board Competition. She was a Distinguished Service Award winner at Arkansas State University, where she graduated magna cum laude with dual degrees in Political Science and Philosophy.
