World Bank Raises India FY27 Growth Forecast to 6.6% | Strong Domestic Demand Boosts Outlook

The World Bank has raised India’s FY2026-27 growth forecast to 6.6% from 6.3%, citing strong domestic demand, resilient exports, and improving trade opportunities from FTAs with the UK and EU. The bank also expects India to grow at 7.6% in FY26, supported by robust household consumption and low inflation.

India continues to remain the key growth engine for South Asia, even as the region faces slowdown risks from global energy prices and geopolitical tensions. The report suggests that GST rationalisation and stronger global trade integration could support consumption and manufacturing in the medium term.
