Hermes Agent + HyperFrames: Free Open-Source AI Tools to Create Amazing Videos

HeyGen's Hyperframes — an open-source framework for making videos out of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, GSAP, Canvas, WebGL, and FFmpeg — now has a skill in Hermes agent. I ran five real builds with it on my own products and content to see what it can actually do.

The trigger for this one was last week's news that Hermes agent now ships a Hyperframes skill. Hyperframes is interesting because AI agents already understand HTML extremely well — way better than they understand a traditional video editor — so they can generate and edit Hyperframes compositions reliably without you ever opening a timeline UI. That unlocks a whole class of "creative video without a video generation model": website-to-promo, slides-to-explainer, repo-to-architecture-walkthrough, shorts-from-transcript, all using web tech under the hood. I lined up five builds across increasing difficulty: an existing HTML slide deck turned into a 16x9 explainer, a reusable YouTube Shorts template built off a transcript snippet from my Hermes Agent + Webhooks video, a website-to-video promo for onchainaigarage.com using the website-to-Hyperframes flow, a GitHub repo turned into an architecture explainer for my LLM Wiki (opening with an X-post-style scene using the x-post registry block and closing on a YouTube lower-third CTA), and finally a Zasshiking promo using the HTML-in-Canvas shatter effect plus the 3D phone reveal. Some of these one-shotted, some needed a second pass in the Hermes Studio live preview where bugs were obvious before I rendered anything out.
