BERTA Teaser Trailer (2024) Fantasia Film Festival

FANTASIA: World Premiere Announcement - Unsettling Feminist Horror Short 'BERTA'. BERTA, the new short horror by acclaimed Spanish director Lucía Forner Segarra, will have its World Premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal as part of the Official Selection of the highly popular Born of Woman showcase.

After the success of MARTA and DANA, Forner Segarra completes her trilogy of feminist horror shorts with BERTA, starring Spanish actors Nerea Barros (as Berta) and Elías González, with a cameo by her long-time muse Thais Blume. Montreal genre filmmaker Patricia Chica acts as executive producer through her company Flirt Films.

Screening Information: Sunday, July 28th, 2024.

About BERTA:
BERTA tells the story of a woman named Berta who seeks understanding from a man that hurt her in the past. Despite her unorthodox methods, she’ll make her point. Montreal audiences are sure to be captivated by Forner Segarra’s unapologetically bold and angsty style of filmmaking, where she holds no limits. Blood, chills, and scars are abundant as tension and anxiety rise.

BERTA is a 17-minute short written, directed, and produced by Lucía Forner Segarra. Executive Producer: Patricia Chica of Flirt Films.
