Welcome To My Kitchen!
Hey, y'all! Welcome to my kitchen! I'm Amanda, but my nephews call me Dandy. I'm a Southern girl who loves to travel the world.
You may or may not have seen some of my adventures over on my YouTube travel channel: Chubby and Away. I’ve been cooking since I was a little girl. When it comes to food, my Mom and Memaw (Grandmother) have always been major influences in my life. I grew up watching them cook for those they love while making it look easy.
When I began traveling full time, I made a point to learn how to make a dish in every country I visited. I hung out with locals, never missed a market, and ate all the street food I could get my hands on. I learned about new complex flavor profiles, crazy ingredients, and became an epically adventurous eater.
I’m a Texas-based home cook who is family, self, and travel trained. I’m so excited you’re here! From Texas to Thailand, and everything in between, I will teach you how to make the exotic dishes of my travels, put my creative spin on some traditional flavors, and maybe even share some of my family’s best down-home country cookin.
So grab a mason jar with some sweet tea, your biggest wok pan, and an open mind for something new. Join me for food, fun, and travel stories as we bring the flavors of the world to your kitchen.
