Specifically, on Friday in Patiala, the police lathi-charged youths who were protesting outside the Punjab State Power Corporation headquarters. Around 2,600 protesting youths from the ITI union had been blocking the main gate and the adjacent road; the police used force to clear the area, beating the protesting youths with batons and driving them away.
