Beijing floods kill 30+, 80,000 evacuated as record rain hits hard 🇨🇳🌧️ #BeijingFloods #China #asia
Deadly Floods in Beijing | 30+ Dead, 80,000 Evacuated | Climate Crisis in China 🇨🇳🌧️
On 29-July-2025, devastating floods struck Beijing and Hebei province, killing over 30 people and forcing more than 80,000 residents to evacuate. Torrential rains — the heaviest in decades — caused landslides, power outages in 136 villages, and widespread infrastructure collapse.
President Xi Jinping has ordered “all-out” rescue operations, as the Miyun Reservoir hit its highest levels since 1959. In towns like Taishitun, streets were submerged and thick mud forced families to flee their homes. The Chinese government has released 50 million yuan in emergency relief and dispatched elite response teams to the worst-hit areas.
Experts warn that human-driven climate change is making extreme weather more frequent and deadly. With more rain forecasted, Beijing remains on high alert.
