After Anya shows no talent in any academic subject or extracurricular activity, Loid decides to take her to volunteer at a hospital, hoping to earn Stella Stars through community service. However, Anya's poor performance angers the staff and gets them dismissed. Meanwhile, a boy named Ken is undergoing physical therapy when he slips into the pool without anyone noticing. Anya detects his distressing thoughts and rushes to save him, where Loid ultimately ends up rescuing both. Anya receives praise for being the only one to notice Ken's predicament, and is thus awarded her first Stella Star. At Eden Academy, Anya begins acting haughtily due to her newly-earned merit, and her classmates theorize that she cheated to get it. However, Damian defends Anya's integrity, much to her surprise. After listening to Becky about rewards and her dog, Anya plans to get a dog to get close to Damian. Back at home, Anya asks Loid and Yor for a dog, to which they agree. Elsewhere, at a dog pound for genetically altered dogs, a white dog suddenly visualizes the Forgers in his mind.
