I BUILT A MULTI VENDOR DELIVERY MARKETPLACE
I built a complete hyper-local delivery marketplace from scratch.
Not a template. Not a tutorial project. This is Sarelo—a fully functional, multi-vendor ecosystem designed to handle the fast-paced logistics of the Nigerian market. From "Iya Basira's" kitchen to the customer’s doorstep, every piece of the puzzle is custom-coded.
Building a marketplace is a massive challenge because you aren’t just building one app—you’re building four. I developed a high-performance Customer Marketplace, a robust Vendor Management Portal, a real-time Rider Logistics App, and a master Admin Command Center.
The Tech Stack behind Sarelo:
Framework: Next.js (App Router)
Database & Auth: Supabase (PostgreSQL)
Deployment: Vercel
Styling: Tailwind CSS
Payments: Paystack Integration (Localized for Nigeria)
Development Tool: Claude Code (My secret weapon for moving fast without cutting corners or compromising logic)
Real-time: Supabase Realtime for order tracking & messaging
What’s inside the walkthrough:
Customer Flow: Dynamic vendor discovery, single-vendor cart enforcement, and Paystack checkout.
Vendor Portal: Real-time menu management, inventory toggles, and payout tracking.
Rider App: A specialized onboarding system with multi-step document verification and a live "Online/Offline" dispatch feed.
Admin Dashboard: Platform-wide oversight, document review, and automated withdrawal management.
The "Claude Code" Advantage: How I used terminal-based AI to refactor complex relational database logic and build out Zod-validated onboarding flows in minutes.
