Marshes West of Elfland | NES Hack Final Fantasy in Another Time | D Classes Part 3
Change video quality to 720p to avoid blurriness.
Magic spells have received a nice upgrade in this hack. Compared to the vanilla version, they will deal more damage due to the INT patch. In addition to this, a change that I've made alters the system that had damage spells like FIRE or LIT doing either 10-20 damage or 20-40 damage, and now they will always deal damage in the higher end of this range (20-40 damage in the case of this example). To compensate for this, characters or enemies with a high RES might be able to block a spell that deals damage if they are NOT weak against the element of the spell. We can see a few examples of this in this video, like the Sea Prawn blocking a hit from the RAY2 spell or the Marsh Worm blocking a hit from the LIT2 spell. This is usually an uncommon occurrence though, and only pulled off by enemies with a high RES that are lucky enough to make the roll for it, or enemies that resist a particular element.
