Oisin O'Connor and Aidan Thibodeaux (CEO, Recharge / CEO, Skio — now part of Recharge) — On April 30, 2026, Recharge acquired Skio for $105M cash in what's been called the largest private acquisition in subscription commerce. Skio had raised just $8M total. Combined, the platforms now power 20,000+ merchants and process $20B+ in GMV. Oisin co-founded Recharge in 2014, bootstrapped it, then raised $277M in growth capital from ICONIQ, Bain Capital Ventures, and Summit Partners. Aidan took Skio from COO to CEO, ran the company to $32M ARR and $4B in payments processed without spending a dollar on marketing, ads, or a sales team. We get into what the first real conversation between the two of them looked like, how they're building trust between companies that were actively trying to take customers from each other, what combining the two datasets unlocks for merchants, what conversational and real-time subscription commerce actually looks like six months from now, and the first benchmark report from $20B+ in GMV that's going to embarrass the industry.
