Teaching Music Reading for Piano Using Guide Notes [Quick Win]
While many of us were taught to read music by reciting "rhymes" (ie. Every Good Boy...), I now feel that this is an ineffective way of teaching reading.
A simpler, and faster approach is an intervallic approach based on students learning some key "guide notes" and then looking at the patterns of spacing from them.
If you want your students to learn to read quickly and understand musical patterns, try this out. In fact, just try it out with the next new student that signs-up for your studio and see how it goes :)
