CPaaS - What Is It and How Can You Use It?



Carlos Villanueva is the Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) of Enabld, a company founded last year that aims to transform Communication Service Providers (CSPs) and Telcos into Digital players. They are the enabler for easy-to-use Enterprise Communications to different industries, service providers gaining access to functionality rather than having to build everything in-house. It’s all about Communication Platforms as a Service – CPaaS. And CPaaS is what we talked about with Carlos! COVID-19 triggered a rapid digital adoption process and CPaaS accelerated rapidly. Development probably jumped the equivalent of several years in such a short space of time. Making digital experiences available at scale is critical. CPaaS is all about real-time cloud-based consumer communications with brands. By 2025 it is expected that Voice, SMS, RCS and other such services will grow consistently to achieve a market size of over $55 billion. CPaaS is particularly heavily used in the Marketing and Sales arenas.
In order to make CPaaS relevant for all and to accelerate its adoption, it’s critical that it is made easier to implement it. We’re particularly thinking of smaller and medium-sized businesses here. CPaaS service providers offer assistance to smaller businesses in particular to help them adopt it. Implementation is one part of the equation but then there is how exactly it should be used to optimal effect. There are so many different digital channels and again CPaaS providers can help direct businesses to use the best channels depending upon the specific use cases. CPaaS is definitely on the rise and you will be seeing a lot more of it in the coming years too!
