DUBAI BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES - THE PROS AND CONS OF DOING BUSINESS IN DUBAI.

Munir Badr set up his company AEserver in Dubai back in 2005. Today his company is the largest domain name registrar and web hosting company based in the UAE. He’s the perfect person then with whom to discuss what it’s like to do business in Dubai and the opportunities there are out there. Munir grew up in Dubai, his parents having moved there when he was very young. Dubai for many years has clearly done a great job of creating a business friendly environment. Zero corporation tax as well as zero income tax have to help and until 2018 there was not even any form of value added tax! How many countries can say that?! And VAT is only 5% today. Tourism still plays a huge role in Dubai and the UAE in general and this will remain the same for years to come. The real estate market is experiencing huge growth right now after the lifting of most pandemic restrictions globally too. If you like hot weather then Dubai is the place for you but we think you’ll agree that with temperatures regularly way above 45C, it might be a little too hot for many people! But the air conditioning is very good… Dubai itself is a huge city and across the UAE, only 10% of the population are locals. 90% of people there have come from abroad, mainly for the job opportunities. Dubai especially is truly international so if you’re arriving from a place you’ve never left before and used to things being done in a certain way etc., then it can be a real culture shock! It certainly isn’t a cheap place to live either but that is to be expected in a place where there is huge demand for accommodation etc.
