UA Canine Cognition Center

For much of history, we have not lived with dogs the way we live with them now says University of Arizona researcher Evan MacLean. Wolves began domesticating themselves when they realized they could benefit from scraps of food and human refuse at the outskirts of society.

Evan MacLean is an assistant professor of anthropology and director of the Arizona Canine Cognition Center in the UA School of Anthropology.

MacLean also researches why some dogs lash out on the leash while others don't; hormones may be to blame.
